I’ll be completely upfront with you – there are times when I use my iPad seemingly every single day and other times throughout the year where I barely use it for weeks at a time.
I find it to be quite an awesome tablet especially if you’re someone that doesn’t want to spend so much time on the laptop and also find a smartphone screen too small to use on a regular basis.
I also love using the iPad for traveling because it’s great for watching videos, using maps, and just browsing the web with a bigger screen.
One problem that I run into quite a bit is that I’m always misplacing or losing my iPad charger as well as the different adapters that I have for it.
That’s why I decided to head online and look for the best iPad charger as well as some great cables and adapters to use in the car and other places as well.
Alternatively, you could consider using a portable power bank for keeping your devices charged and ready to use for an extended period of time.
In this post I decided to compile some of the different options that I came across so that I could give you a better idea of some of my recommendations as well as create somewhat of a starting point when it comes to finding suitable chargers, cables, and adapters to use for your iPad.
The Best iPad Charger, Adapter, and Cables to Take a Look At
Apple 12W USB Power Adapter
I’ve always been a big fan of using the official products available if you can so when it comes to an iPad charger/adapter it’s the Apple 12W USB Power Adapter that I would recommend checking out.
This one comes equipped with a USB port that you can use with a lightning connector so that it can be used to quickly charge any iPad, iPhone, and iPod models and it’s much quicker than if you were just to use a regular USB adapter.
It offers up 12W so there is definitely a difference and how quick could you can charge a device especially when compared to your standard 5W chargers.
It’s also quite small and portable so you can choose to either leave it at home plugged into one of your charging stations or just toss it into your bag and bring it around with you depending on what you need it for.
Anker 24W Dual USB Wall Charger
The Anker 24W Dual USB Wall Charger is another iPad charger that I would recommend checking out and I liked it because it comes equipped with 2 USB ports so that it can be used to charge up to two devices at the same time.
It comes with a few interesting features such as the PowerIQ that allows the charger to automatically identify the device that has been connected and provided with a high-speed optimum charge.
Another interesting feature is the VoltageBoost technology that actually determines when there is any cable resistance from long or old cables and then compensates the resistance to make sure that the plugged-in device is still able to get charged properly.
It offers 24W of wattage so when two devices are plugged in they’re able to draw 12W each with a max charging speed of up to 2.4 amps per USB port.
Depending on your preferences there are two colors to choose from and you can go with a black one or a white one to better match your style.
On the front of the charger is a little blue LED light that lets you know once the devices that are plugged in are fully charged and thanks to its small and compact size it’s possible to bring along this wall charger if you’re traveling or if you just want something to use when you’re away from home for charging up to two devices at the same time.

YAXXO 12W USB iPad Wall Charger
The YAXXO 12W USB iPad Wall Charger is another 12W charger that you can use with your iPad and it comes equipped with a single USB port for charging capabilities.
It’s also compatible with a wide range of other devices such as the Apple iPhone 6 series comma the 5 series, the HTC One, as well as quite a few other phones and tablets as well.
It features a white, streamline design with the USB port on one side and on the opposite side is the plug which actually folds into the charger itself so that it’s not sticking out when you’re not using it.
To make it even more portable it’s possible to remove the little plug from the actual charger but make sure to keep both the pieces together so that you don’t have to worry about losing them and not being able to charge your device if you can’t find one of the pieces.
It also comes with a lightning cable which is designed to plug in and charge some of the newer Apple devices and I really like this because it’s always nice having extra cables laying around just in case you lose one or can’t find one at the moment.
The iClever BoostCube is a 24W wall charger that comes with two USB ports so that it’s possible to charge up to two devices at the same time with this charger.
It comes equipped with a smart ID technology that allows for the charger to recognize the device that you plug in and maximise how efficiently it’s able to charge it so you’re able to enjoy a quick charging time.
There is a nifty little heading LED indicator light inside each of the USB ports and the plug actually folds back into the charger when you’re not using it and this helps to make it portable and well suited for traveling around with.
Depending on the type of iPad or other device that you’re charging your able to save a few hours of charging time overall compared to if you were just using a regular USB wall adapter.
The iClever BoostCube ports offer an output currency of a total of 4.8A and you’re able to take advantage of 2.4A per port.
One great thing about it is that it’s compatible with the iPad Pro, Mini, and Air along with being compatible with the iPhone 7, 6, and even 5 series so you can use it for charging up most of your Apple devices.
Unfortunately it’s not compatible with the iPod Classic or the Nano and I would recommend checking the instructions or looking online to see which devices it’s compatible with.
Depending on your preferences it’s possible to choose from either a white one or a black one and I would recommend checking out the iClever BoostCube if you’re looking for a wall charger for your iPad that’s portable and comes equipped with 2 USB ports.

The Syncwire USB Charger Plug comes equipped with four USB ports so it’s possible to charge up to four devices at the same time which is great for those using or traveling with more than one or two smartphones, tablets, or other tech devices.
It comes equipped with a smart IC technology that allows the charger to adjust the current electric output so that it’s possible to match the specific needs of the iPad or other device that you plugged in.
It’s possible to take advantage of up to 34W of power and 2 of the ports provide 2.4A with the other 2 providing 1A.
This is an especially good charger for those that are traveling a lot to consider as it comes with the standard US/Canada plug setup along with 2 other adapters so that it can be used in both the EU and the UK for charging your devices.
Depending on the device you’re using the Syncwire USB Charger Plug it approved to be used and is compatible with the iPhone 7 series, 6 series, and 5 series phones along with the iPad Air and Mini and a wide range of other smartphone and tablet devices.

Ipad Lightning Connector Cable (Cords)
The lightning connector or the lightning to USB cord is a USB 2.0 cable that you use for connecting your iPad to a USB port so that it can charge the battery for you.
It’s one of the latest cable connectors that Apple has come out with and it features a reversible design while being compatible with a wide range of the newer iPad, iPhone, and iPod models.
I always like having a few different cords laying around so that I don’t have to go searching through my house trying to find one and it’s a good idea to have a few in different places just that there’s always one ready to use when you need it.
Anker Premium Lightning to USB Cable
I’m personally a huge fan of Anker products so it’s the Anker Premium Lightning to USB Cable that I would recommend checking out if you’re looking for a lightning cable to use with your iPad.
I prefer using the 3 foot long one but there’s one that’s 6 feet in length as well if you need something longer.
Depending on your preference is there are a few different colors available to choose from and this cord is designed to work with the iPhone 7, 6, and 5 models as well as the iPad Air, Air 2, Pro, and the mini models from the original all the way up to 4.
The connector piece is 24 karat gold plated that helps to make it more heat and corrosion-resistant and it also takes advantage of a unibody construction that makes it more durable and well suited for regular daily use.
The cord material is a dirt resistant PVC that’s easy to clean and stays cleaner for much longer than your standard cord that tends to collect dirt and get grimy quite quickly depending on how you use it.
There is an 18-month warranty with the Anker Premium Lightning to USB Cable and that along with its overall build quality is why I would recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a new or a spare lightning connector for your iPad.

Don’t forget to take a look at the post I wrote on the best USB car charger for some other ideas.

Each of the ports offers a 2.4A output and this makes it a suitable choice to use if you want to charge your iPad, iPhone, or iPod while you’re out driving around.
It comes equipped with an intelligent circuit design that helps to keep it protected from short-circuiting, overcharging, and overheating and once the battery is full the charging stops so that it’s not drawing any unnecessary current from the car battery while you’re using it.
The USB ports light up so you can see them in the dark and in low light conditions and they are smart ports as well that allows them to automatically optimize the charging speed depending on the device that you plug in.
Depending on your preferences there are two different colors to choose from, a black one and a white one, and I would recommend checking out the Maxboost Car Charger if you’re looking for a way to charge your iPad and other devices in your car.
