Don’t you hate taking video with your smartphone and then once you review it you find out that it’s shaky, unstable, and not that pleasant to watch?
Although many phones these days come with built-in stabilisation when it comes to recording video it doesn’t always work the way it’s meant to end when you’re trying to capture footage with your bare hands it can be quite tricky keeping the phone stable throughout the entire filming process.
With a smartphone stabilizer it’s possible to capture much steadier and stable footage that many people not only find more enjoyable to watch but it also looks higher quality and offers an overall better production value, especially for those that are using their phone for their YouTube channel or other online endeavors.
Recently I started to look for a way to capture better video with my phone and this began my search for the best smartphone stabilizer to use with both my iPhone and Samsung Galaxy.
The Best Smartphone Stabilizer

The LanParte HHG-01 Stabilizer offers stabilization through a motorized 3-axis gimbal that’s powered by a Lithium-Ion battery.
With the smartphone positioned on the mount this stabilizer uses the motorized gimbal along with its brushless motors so that any footage of captured is much more stable and isn’t as shaky as if it was being held by hand.
This one can be used with the iPhone 4 and all the models up to the iPhone 6 Plus along with being able to use Samsung phones with it as well.
Not only that but there’s a clamp included that can hold a smartphone that’s anywhere between 2.2-inches and 3.0-inches in width and an even bigger clamp for smartphones between 2.5-inches and 3.6-inches in width.
Along with being able to be used with phones it’s also possible to use this stabilizer with a GoPro camera and there is a GoPro clamp mount included in the box as well.
The way that this gimbal stabilizer works is by following the movement of your wrist as you’re moving the camera around while it’s mounted and ensuring that it is balanced and level during the recording process.
To make it easier to hold there is a silica gel handle grip that’s comfortable and offers a decent grip while it’s being moved around and to make it easier to charge the battery is actually removable so it can be charged anywhere using the included charger.
Along with a carrying case to make it easier to carry there are also some counterweights that are meant to be used with bigger phones to help balance out the mount and ensure that the gimbal stabilizer can work effectively.

The motors that are used for stabilization offer high power and high torque so they’re able to decently counterbalance most movements and this stabilizer comes with four different shooting modes that allow for versatility and variety when it comes to capturing video.
The handle is very sturdy and Comes equipped with a few rougher areas for better grip and to change the shooting modes this is all done with the large button that’s on the handle near the top.

RetiCAM Smartphone Tripod Mount with Hand Grip
The RetiCAM Smartphone Tripod Mount with Hand Grip is a handheld grip that allows for a smartphone to be mounted on the top.
With this setup it’s possible to capture a steadier shot where the handle grip acts like somewhat of a counterbalance and helps to prevent the smartphone from shaking around too much while it’s recording footage.
Keep in mind that the gimbals that use brushless motors offer a much steadier and smoother shot overall but some people might find them quite pricey and the handheld grip stabilizers offer a suitable alternative.
The grip part of this stabilizing grip is covered with a soft rubber material that’s comfortable to hold and helps to prevent slipping while it’s being held.
The rest of the components are made from metal and this results in the grip being quite durable and sturdy in design.
It’s possible to use this with smartphones that are up to 3.6-inches in width and because of the tripod mounting capability it can also be used with point and shoot cameras or video recorders as well.
